Formula Renault UK

Formula Renault UK is established as the country’s leading single seater championship, launching the Formula One racing careers of Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen and Heikki Kovalainen.

The Championship enjoys a high level of exposure due to its place on the support package of the British Touring Car Championship, leading to television on the ITV network. Two races are also held at the World Series by Renault, which attracted a record-breaking crowd of 135,000 in 2009, making it the best attended one-make single seater series.
In 2010 a brand new car was introduced, featuring a lighter chassis, more powerful engine, and seven speed paddle shift gearbox.
